It’s raining

Is it sad that I’m already ready for a vacation? Our trip to Hot Springs didn’t do it justice. As much as I loved spending time with Brian, Hot Sprints was a dead spot. I don’t recommend it unless of course you’ve already been to every spot in the US. Maybe there is a better time to go.

I’ve been heavily researching babies. No we’re not trying, not for a few more years, but I was curious. One website said you’ll have to have at least 30K saved up for the first years. Some of the required costs were a bit ridiculous, but they made sense. On top of that, day care for infants is like 900-1000+ a month. YIPES. So with all that said, I think we need to use up our time traveling. I mean seriously traveling. There’s lots of places Brian and I have never been to together, and now is the time to do it. Considering how lazy we are, I’m sure once we have a family travelling is the last thing we’d want to do.

It was storming like crazy last night. Thunder and lightning all night long. It took me an hour and 45 minutes to get to work. Crazy. Why can’t people just drive. On top of that, why can’t street lights not go out during a storm? I hope it doesn’t rain on the way to class tonight. That would suck.

This past weekend, we found the perfect shelving unit for our tv downstairs. It’s not technically made for a TV stand, but it looked like it does the job. Brian unloaded the pieces yesterday and in looking at the manual realized that the weight limit is 10 lbs. UGH. I want to return it, because A. it’s from Walmart. B. We really don’t need it. C. It really doesn’t go anywhere, particularly if we plan on buying matching furniture later on.

Brian doesn’t want to return it simply because we can’t put it back in the box.

PMP Update

2 weeks down, 8 to go. I need to go ahead and schedule my test date which will likely happen around Christmas time. Since we’ve only covered 4 chapters, I figured I’d take a sample test to see where I am. So far my average score is at 62% which is technically passing if you’re looking at percentage. I need to get 107 out of 175 correct. There are 200 questions in the exam. I just need to pass. Grades or percentages don’t really matter as the goal is to get the certificate.

Drat

I hauled ass to get to work by 8 for an 8:30 meeting that got cancelled. That’s two days in a row. Arg. So I’m basically here before anyone. At least we had yesterday off.

Preweekend update

First off, I am sooo exhausted. I haven’t been sleeping well again and that makes me tired throughout the day. I also get this pain in the back of my neck/shoulders that makes me feel even more tired. ARG.

I’m glad it’s a three day weekend, now I can catch up on sleep.

Tomorrow is TX/OU. I think I’d rather take the Dart again this year, I certainly don’t want to mess with traffic and parking. Although the bus is a bit scary, there were plenty of people last year, so it wasn’t too bad.

Thank you to Valarie and Harlan AGAIN for the tickets. As for the fair itself, it’s not like what it used to be when I was a kid. I remember my dad would take me every year on fair day and we’d spend the day together. I remember the rides being super fun, but now the thought of it just makes me nauseous. I am looking forward to the one corn dog of the year. Yum.

Maybe we’ll catch the car show this year to scope out what car to get Brian. I don’t know. I’m too tired. At least the new office building has a free gym, which looks pretty nice. I’ll start hitting it up next week and hopefully get some of that energy back.

Random note: I need to post more pictures, so here’s a picture of Reesey in the backyard.

First day of class

Happy Monday!

It was quite an uneventful weekend other than Brian’s parents coming into town. Brian practically had to work the entire weekend again. Boo.

So yesterday rather than sitting around doing nothing I just walked around the mall…which then led me to get anotoher haircut. I just trimmed off an inch so my hair is now the same length it was when I cut it about two months ago. I need to find a good hair straightener. The Chi is 139 bucks. I can’t justify spending that much on a hair straightener, oh but it works really well! Someday…when I feel like splurging. I wonder if I can use the BBB 20% off coupons.

I did however finish reading the 3 chapters for my class today. Most of it was just high level stuff so it was rather uninteresting. I wonder how bored I’m going to get in my 3.5 hour class today. I’ve never in my life set foot on the UTD campus, so I hope I don’t get lost.

I can’t wait until I have a day off next Monday! Too bad we have class on that day.

Traffic woes

Seriously, what genius decided to make a highway with lights. I think I waited at least 5 minutes at each of the lights on 121. That’s about 3 red lights before it was my turn to go through. I know I’m complaining a lot about the traffic, and I shouldn’t because I knew it would be bad. But seriously. I can’t wait until 121 is done. And why the heck does it have to be a tollway? Can’t people just drive without having to pay for the friggin pavement they drive on. ARG, I mean isn’t that what our car registration fees for??

Ok VENT over.

My first day on the job was to be expected. Very light. I can’t say claim that I’m lost only because everything is way over my head. My week is packed with meetings so that will at least give me some insight as to what I’m supposed to be doing.

Speaking of work, Brian’s been busy busy with his job. He worked all weekend and had to work till midnight last night. ARG. I want my husband back!

Oh one more thing worth mentioning, I just paid off 1 of my student loan. WEEEE, it’s such a good feeling. That’s 1 out of 4. I’m only less than 200 bucks from paying off another one. I might as well just pay that one off as well. Unfortunately though, I still have about 5 more years before I can pay off the bulk of my loan.

It’s my last day here

It’s my last day of work at HH. It’s pretty sad to leave here since I’ve enjoyed working with everyone. On top of that, everyone’s been really nice and supportive of me leaving. They all keep saying I can come back anytime. I guess they do like me here ;-)

Anyway, I am very excited about the new position. I’ll be a Project Manager within the Client Services of the IT group at a company in Lewisville. It’s going to be very fast paced, but I think I’m up for the challenge. It’s certainly the direction I’m wanting to get into at this stage in my career. I even got my PMP course book, I have to read the first 3 chapters before our first class in two weeks. I started out with the first 6 last night and nearly fell asleep. So instead, I watched Babel. Great movie by the way.

Well, I’ve cleaned out my desk, transitioned all my clients and I finished my last powerpoint for a client onsite meeting I’ll be missing next week. :-( I’m done for today.
