Our Married Life

We spent a majority of our day shopping. The day started with our Sunday morning date having breakfast and reading the paper. Then we took off to go shopping up in Frisco. Man it was bitter cold, the wind was just brutal. Anyway, I think we bought of the stuff we needed to buy. I still have no idea what to give Brian. He doesn’t DirectTV even though I want it, and the stuff he asks for I refuse to buy because I know he won’t use it, like his bike, mousepad drawing thingy, his watches, etc etc. He may as well not get anything from me this year.

Anyway, I finally got caught up with some work which is great. Now the weekend is almost over, and we have to go back to work tomorrow.

Well it’s been snowing/sleeting for the last 2 hours. But the cars are finally accumulating the white fluff so you can actually tell. Our boss told us we can leave at 3 if we wanted to. Poor Reesey, she wouldn’t want to go walking I’m sure.

Edit: here are some pictures. It was friggin cold, but Reesey and went on our walk anyway. I was afraid her little paws were going to fall off trekking through the ice cold grass.

I’m hoping to get by this time around without having to work. But already my clients are asking if I’m going to be around, dang retail marketers! I’m going to make a pumpkin cheesecake to bring with us, but I think we’ll have to keep it in a cooler, so I don’t know…

Reesey’s been doing good, Brian’s making yet another layout for this site, and so far I like it.

As for the other stuff, parents are doing fine, car is running great, married life is peachy. Woohoo.

So today we had our company Thanksgiving potluck. I brought three different things. Cheese cookies, which is a savory cookie made with cheddar cheese, speaking of which I need to get more cheese so I can make them for Brian’s potluck tomorrow. I also brought italian meatballs, and pumpkin pasta. Everyone likes it despite what Brian thinks of my pumpkin pasta. I should send it with him tomorrow. Anyway, I’m tired. Got home at 8:30 last night, cooked and didn’t sleep well last night.

I’m ready to go home.

Say hello to Mr. Henrick. ok we don’t really have a name for it. But this is my brand new car! It’s a 2006 VW Passat. :-D We got it this weekend. We’ve been talking about getting one for several months but because of the wedding and everything else, it wasn’t quite the right time. BUT, since the 2007 models were coming up and there were only 2 brand new 2006′s left on the lot we had to get it and strike a deal. This isn’t the actual car since the pictures I took were in the dark, but that’s my car and color…

I know it’s silly to be celebrating a 2 month anniversary, but with everything going on, it’s nice to know we’ve been married for 2 whole months already. The time sure has flown by.

Seriously, I bet there are more patients who get sick from staying the hospitals but absolutely nothing gets done on a timely basis. My dad checked into the hospital at 2am into the emergency on a Friday night. He did not get to see a doctor until 2pm the next day. Secondly they wanted to keep him there until they completed some tests (sonograms), and of course he had to wait until Monday to get it done. I guess the labs closes on Sunday…what if it was life threatening??

Then I get a call today saying he can go home in 45 minutes. I drive over there during my lunch break, expecting to just pick him up, but of course the nurses have NO clue if he’s even been signed off on or if the doctor has seen him that day. I SPOKE TO THE DOCTOR ON THE PHONE MYSELF!!!! They told me to just come back after work because they can’t get their acts together. I just want this to be over with, and yes I’ve been bitter about it, not because I have to take care of my parents, but because I AM THE ONLY ONE responsible enough to do so, since my siblings are useless. Granted, they live thousands of miles away, but seriously, if they really cared, one of them would fly down. I’m pretty sure that they’re glad they’re not stuck with that responsibility.

Anyway, I just want my life back. I want to be able to just go home, cook, work on stuff and spend time with my husband and dog.

my dad is in the hospital. i woke up this morning and had 29 missed calls. apparently he had to go to the emergency room last night for some pain. they think he has kidney stones and have to monitor him for the next couple days. it’s been a long day…
