Got a great deal on an aisle runner

The knot boards is a great resource for brides. Especially for those needing a good deal on leftovers from past brides. I’m getting an aisle runner for 5 bucks, and I’m gonna pass that on to another knottie when I’m done with it. Woohoo.

Violinist

So on Sunday we met with a Violinist. He was great. Rates are good. We’re going with him.

Florists

I’m meeting with a couple florists in the next two weeks. I think we’re just going to have the ceremony at the country club. No sense in wheeling guests around. :-( I am rather sad though, I’ve always pictured myself getting married in a church. Maybe I should take my aunts offer to help me find one.

Things to do

Here are things we need to be doing in January:

  1. Find a church
  2. Book a photographer
  3. Book a DJ
  4. Finalize bakery decision
  5. Start looking for honeymoon spots
  6. Buy a car ;-) (maybe)
  7. Find a florist

That’s it for now.

Churches

Brian wants to have the ceremony at a Lutheran church. I’m all for that. Unfortunately since we’re not a member at any church, not only will it be tough to decide which one, but also we can’t save money because we’re not members. I don’t want to join one just for the sake of joining a church so we can have our wedding there, it’s a little too sacreligious. I guess we can do it at my parents’ church, although I’ve never been there, and I have no idea where or what it looks like. A co-worker was saying that it’s not that cheap if you’re not a member. I was complaining how Perkin’s Chapel at SMU charges about 1600 including videotaping, traffic officer, organist. We need to provide our chaplain, but I do have someone in mind. My co-worker’s church, the largest church known to man, Prestonwood Baptist Church charges the same amount; maybe because it’s big?

Whatever! We will find that Lutheran church, there’s plenty out there. I guess we should join as well. We both need to start going to church anyway…

Bridesmaid #1

Well today I had lunch with an old friend from college. We were discussing life, etc. My engagement, her engagement. I finally asked her if she wanted to be my bridesmaid. She got really excited. Seeing that made me emotional. :-) So yay!!! We’re going to have tons of fun!

Guestlist

I need a guest list. At least an estimate before I attempt to speak with any of the reception sites. The goal is to have at least 200 guests, and I will be ordering 150+ invitations (just in case). The wedding will be in Dallas, so it will be a little hard to get everyone there…but hopefully they’ll come.

Last night on the way home from New Braunfels, I was seriously thinking of just having a beach wedding somewhere…

Anyway a note to the parentals and family, please come up with some names.

I already have 81 names on the list on my side.
