Flower Girl

This past weekend was Brian’s family reunion. We asked Emma, his 4 year old cousin, to be our flowergirl. She was being bashful and shook her head no. Unfortunately for her she’ll still have to do it ;-). I guess it just depends on her mood that day, but I already bought the dress! I got at celebrations from the Sam Moon shopping center. There are actually two stores in that area that sells flowergirl dresses and mini tuxedos. All in a reasonable price and so very cute. The one I got is white with a sash that ties around the back and a white flower in the front. Plain and simple.
Also thanks for the prayers for Brian’s test yesterday. It turned out normal, thank goodness for that. Hehe, it was so funny seeing him completely out of it because of the anesthesia. I swears he doesn’t remember a thing.
Anyway, I’m working on the invitations right now. I need to take the paper samples to Staples to see if they can print them. I don’t think they’ll have a problem with these. Unfortunately though, they can’t print on vellum, which I was planning on using for the map and hotel information. I guess we can always print those at home.

Ok, I was playing with photoshop and decided to come up with some color combos. Which ones look better? From this first combo, I think the orange needs to be a little darker. We also might need to get rid of the fushia color. Gerber daisies are cute. Speaking of flowers I might combine gerber daisies with roses, peonies, lilies and of course orchids.
I like this combo. The orange really pops. I really don’t want to get away from the orange. I think I may end up with this, since both Brian and I were set on this color combo. We both agree not to combine several different colors, so we might just do two colors.
I think this works really well together. What do you think? I like the idea of the rich jade color with a rich purplish color. If we were to add a third color I might add purple instead. I don’t know, I’m so color blind and have no idea. I like colors of all kinds :-)
Eh. I don’t know. The purple by itself with the jade doesn’t go well together. I think I might stick with dark orange and add more white instead of fushia. I got tired of looking for pictures….Maybe a florist would know.
Well, we got the bridesmaid’s dresses. Guess what? It’s not orange or fushia. But I do love this color and always have. It’s very rich and can coordinate with the tropical colors I’m going for. They did have an orange one, but I just didn’t like it. The orange dresses out there are just too bright or just not quite right. A fushia dress would’ve been too tacky….So I’ve been worried about finding the right color combo. We did see the Raylia dress at Whatchamacallit, and almost settled for it, but decided to go elsewhere. Anyway I need to make sure orange and fushia goes well with this jade colored dress.
I found the bridesmaid dresses. I think. I’d have to get Julie and Yi to see if they like it. It’s the colors I’m looking for. I did find another one, but the dress was only one color (coral), and I was hoping for a two-toned dress. Anyway, you can find a picture
So I have a friend that I wanted to be in my wedding from day one. I wanted to ask her as a bridesmaid, but I had a strong feeling that she would say no. I knew that she is very school oriented and thus will probably not have time to commit to be in the wedding especially when the date is the beginning of the school year. So it was easier for me to avoid getting a “No” than to ask this person. So today, I chatting with her and talking about random stuff. Then I mentioned that I had wanted her in my wedding. She said she was disappointed that I had not asked her and even asked someone else before her. So right then, I asked her to be my bridesmaid. Of course she said no….and of course I got upset and almost cried. It’s silly to say you wanted to be a part of it but can’t. Maybe she only said no because she was offended in the first place. Who knows. That’s all I have to say for this subject. I still want her to be a part of it somehow. May be a reader? That doesn’t take any planning. Sigh!
