Yoga

I dragged Brian to a Yoga studio for the first time. I figured we needed some cleansing and since we can never make it to the gym together to workout, why not try yoga. Somehow, the only studio that I thought looked really good was Sunstone Yoga. It’s basically a chain of franchises. This was also hot power yoga. The classroom we were in was heated at 98.6 degrees. The technique they used in this particular class was hatha, which is what I’ve done before. I was a bit scared of the heat since my body isn’t too tolerant of heat, BUT we made it through. This was Brian’s first time doing yoga and he thought it was good. I took a yoga class in college and liked it alot, although it wasn’t heated. Anyway, we’re both a bit sore today, but we’re going to try again next Saturday. I’m also going to try one of the yoga classes at the gym to see which I like better. If I happen to like the hot yoga better, I think I’m going to cancel my gym membership and go to the yoga studio instead. I can always do my weight and cardio training at the work gym. Besides, I can never find the right time to go to the real gym.

i think warm/hot types of yoga are so much more cleansing. and it feels more like a workout too. i’m impressed you were able to talk brian into going! if you ever try bikram, let me know how it goes. i’m scared of going THAT hot.
