Home Buying

So yesterday, we drove over to Wylie to look at some new homes. The models we looked at were standard models that we’ve seen before and the pricing was in our range, but we figured it was a bit too far east. The neighborhood was also of course cookie cutter and just as bad as the Frisco/McKinney area.

I guess we’re still looking into buying a resell home, but hopefully we can find one with all the stuff we want. We just don’t want to have to live too far away from work and civilization. I guess the stuff you see online is just some of the houses on the market, we’ll definitely have to get a realtor. Brian’s going to contact one of his clients to start the discussion.

Hopefully we’ll find a house by the end of April. If after we’ve reached that time frame and still haven’t progressed, I guess we’ll have to either stay in our current apt for another year or find other living arrangements.

I’m nervous about it all. Nervous that we’re moving too slow. Nervous that we won’t find a house we like and will keep looking for another year. Nervous because we’re actually serious this time and it’s a huge step… EEEK. But surely it’s not that difficult?? There are people younger than us or people with less money that have gone through this process. Why couldn’t we?

get a realtor. they help a lot in the searching and the paperwork. once we found the house we liked, it took about a month to put in the offer until we signed the paperwork and closed. (we also purchased right around thanksgiving, so everyone was off on holiday for a few days.)

whatever house you find, you can look it up on dallascad.org to see it’s tax value. that’ll give you a base for the value of houses in that area.

also, see if you can get pre-approved for a loan because that’ll speed up the process. good luck! let me know if you need more info. it really wasn’t as bad of a process as i thought it’d be. i was pretty intimidated at first.

Just read this….dont have time to read it all, but every, nearly every house is listed on MLS….I found ours searching and doing LOTS of research myself and the realtor I first used was a WASTE of time….

As far as the good faith estimate, we had that well above what we needed and it doesnt really mean much….we still went through hell and back for months, thought we were going to lose our DREAM house, UNTIL the amazing MIKE LUKOWSKI got us our dream house WITH the DREAM mortgage and interest rates in about 7 days TOTAL….he is your man, I truly believe this statement, “If he cant do it, no one can…”

We are very young too and were thinking the same thing as you…it shouldnt be hard and with Mike it isnt… heres his info:

    The Lending House

    Dallas, TX 75243

TELL HIM JORDYN CHRISTIAN SENT YOU….I didnt even know him before this process and now he gets invitations to dinner with my family, thats how much he means to us….

    hope this helps…and good luck
