Our Married Life

I wasted 2 hours of my life trying to install it on my new laptop. I think Windows Vista is incompatible with Cisco VPN. So then I just spent another hour trying to install it on Brian’s PC. WHY IS IT GIVING ME A DRIVER FAILURE!! I think bc he has all these different firewalls, it’s losing connection or something. I don’t know why I spent that much time trying to install something for work. Seriously they need to give us a laptop.

Anyway, speaking of laptop, Best Buy didn’t offer us the one we wanted, I guess they were just following the warranty’s policy which means an exchange for a laptop of equal performance. Since my laptop was 3 years old, everything out there is definitely better than what we had. But we did pay an extra hundred bucks to get a somewhat nicer HP laptop. Window’s Vista so far is pretty and of course appears to be a ripoff of the Mac OS, but I like it. The only annoying thing was figuring out where all the old menus are like the Run prompt.

It actually snowed this morning. Of course it lasted about an hour and didn’t stick, but it was still sweet nonetheless.

I made an appt with a doctor tomorrow. I’m not sure why, but I was bored and thought maybe I should find a doctor for future purposes. But while I was trying to make the appt, I was starting to dislike the person on the phone. I decided after hanging up, that I would call in the next day to cancel. Unfortunately, she called me first to confirm the appt and mentioned a $20 dollar cancellation policy. What the heck? I haven’t even MET the doctor yet, and they want to charge me 20 bucks for canceling. Most places only implement that policy if you cancel less than 24 hours prior to the appt. So now I have to go because I don’t want to waste 20 bucks for nothing. Urgh. I guess I’ll just get a physical or something. I also need to get myself some new contacts. I’m done to my last pair and they’re already starting to dry out.

Alright I’m off to bed, Cisco sucks.

I started on our taxes yesterday. Damn you government! It looks like we owe them again!! This time half as much. But dangit! I thought we avoided all that. I guess we didn’t make changes to our W2s until mid year. But seriously, how much tax does person have to pay anyway? It’s such BS.

Anyway, I sent Mypublisher a note about the album being messed up, and they gave me a $125 credit for a new book. This means I can change some things around that I didn’t like and hopefully get it reprinted soon.

My mom wants to go to Cambodia for a month sometime in March because my grandmother’s sick. Anyway, she wanted me to stay with my dad for a month or two while she’s gone. I know he can’t be alone and really there’s no other choice. I can always let him stay at our apartment but he has nowhere to sleep, and I’m sure Brian wouldn’t like it. A month is just TOOO long. Dangit, I really don’t want to stay away from home for a whole month. I’ll miss my dog and husband. Granted they’re only 20 minutes away, but still. I’m not sure what to do. I’m thinking if I fly him to either my brother’s or sister’s they would enjoy having him. I know that sounds selfish, but it’s a whole friggin month, maybe even TWO. I wouldn’t have minded if it was only a couple weeks. I’m not even sure if I like the thought of my mom traveling internationally alone. I’m sure she’ll be fine. Anyway, I guess we’ll see.

The day is slowly creeping up. Not that we do it huge on Vday, we usually just go out for a fancy dinner at some restaurant we haven’t been to and he would send me flowers or buy me a card and I’ll buy him small. Last year we went to the Melting Pot for some fondue. I highly recommend by the way.

But this year, I just feel a bit apathetic. Maybe it’s because we’re already married?? And since vday is on a Wednesday this year, it just makes it much more silly to celebrate.

So after having to work late on Monday, I stayed out late on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday I had lunch with a friend from HS. We finally patched things up and I had a great time seeing her again. Wednesday the girls at work met up at someone’s house to play Texas Holdem. I’ve never played poker before, but I kicked ass which surprised everyone. I guess I have a good poker face, or maybe since we weren’t playing with money, I was much more brave.

Anyway, I got my Mypublisher album in the mail today. I rushed home from work during lunch to pick it up since I was so excited. The album is missing the first 4 pages. HRMPH. Also the quality is great, but the images themselves are a bit blurry. Maybe I shouldn’t have messed with the resolution despite what their help page was saying.

Oh well, hopefully they’ll reprint it and hopefully I can tweak the resolution. Overall, it looks good and everyone thinks it’s amazing and the design looks like a pro did it.

Dude, I am seriously out of makeup, moisturizer, and such. Since I’m out of moisturizer, I am thinking of getting the Philosophy brand Hope in a Jar. I’m hearing some rave reviews on that. It’s in the same price range as my jar of Prescriptives version.

I’m also out of the Bare Escentuals mineral veil. I love their products.

Anyway, there’s also some random stuff I need. Maybe I should just make a trip to the Sephora store this weekend.

I’m trying to drink more hot tea. I guess for its health benefits, plus it’s better than coffee. I went and bought of box of passion tea from Starbucks. Man that thing is strong. It tastes like really tart fruit juice, but it’s so darn good. I think I like it better as an iced tea versus hot.

Anyway, so I have to work late on Mondays from now on, which is fine, that means I get to come in later which means I don’t have to wake up early on Mondays. I think it’s not so bad. Although when 5 o’clock rolls around it’s a bit misleading, bc that’s when I should be going home.

This past weekend we went to go see Henry Cho at the Improv. It was pretty good, although I think I liked Paul Varghese (opening act) better. He told the same joke as the last time we saw him, but he was still funny the second time around. The show was sold out, and when we got there, they gave us the wrong table. The guy was being a bit snotty since we didn’t want to move because the table was in a good spot, but since our party was bigger than what it was when we originally bought the tickets, they wanted to move us to a corner table. Anyway, we finally moved tables, but I was still ticked off at the way he was acting, I guess you kinda have to be that way. Drinks there suck by the way. Since there was a two drink minimum, I just ordered a diet coke for my second one. We then stopped by Brian’s coworkers apt and had some more drink and watched more comedy central. This was the first time Brian has ever gotten drunk in public, and I didn’t like it so much. He gets really repetitive and loud, at least to me. All was fun though. I think Brian woke up the next morning with a hangover, silly boy.

Anyway, I think Reesey was sick this weekend. She threw up some nasty orange stuff (pepperoni stick maybe) and barely ate all weekend. She pretty slept all day Saturday though. It’s almost time for her vet appt too. Poor puppy hates the vet. She shakes and shivers before we even pull into the parking lot and as soon as we put her on the ground she runs straight towards the door.

I don’t post much about Reesey. How could I not. She’s absolutely the cutest dog in the world. I wish I can bring her to work everyday so that everyone can fall in love with her as much as we love her. As cute and sweet as she is, she’s also a little terror. I wonder why she’s so scared of people?? She was never like that as a puppy. Maybe we’re just bad parents. I guess once the weather clears up, we need to make weekly trips to the dog park so she can socialize. Or maybe we need to take her in and do some coop type training. Despite being a pain sometimes, she will warm up to you once she’s around you for awhile.

Anyway here’s some pictures to share. They’re the most recent I think, and of course are from Christmas. I was finally able to put her Santa hat on without her trying to take it off and run away with it. However, I had to give her a bone just so she can focus on it while I took pictures.

Yesterday morning we had another wave of ice and sleet. This time there was more snow than there was earlier in the week. I think we’re going to get our third wave this weekend.

Unfortunately though I wasn’t able to play hooky like some people. Speaking of which, when you claim to be working from home, you’re actually supposed to be working. I had to take care of other’s people crap since they weren’t here. Arg.

I want my laptop back so I can VPN in. It’s such a huge pain the ass. How hard is it to reinstall Windows. It’s been almost THREE months.

Anyway, today is my Friday, since I’m taking tomorrow off. I have to use my last vacation day from last year otherwise I lose it.
