So tired

I’ve completed neglected my LJ and even Xanga and have been posting here only. If only there was a way to export the LJ posts easily so that I can save them. That’s 6 years of posting!

Anyway, I’ve got all my stuff I need for my invitations except my map, WHICH I AM WAITING FOR BRIAN TO FINISH, and off to the printer I go. I hope it doesn’t take long to get printed.

I am so tired. I guess getting back into the routine of work after a 2 week hiatus has been draining. I am also been getting stomach aches which is NOT cool.

I need to get a pedicure. Perhaps this weekend, or maybe I should just save my money and wait till closer to the wedding to get it done.

Tomorrow, I’m meeting up with another knottie, I’m going to buy some of her white pillar candles to use for the mantle piece for the ceremonies. I found some at Ikea, but only one size, and I was hoping to get various different sizes. I’m getting 10 more candles from her, all for 16 bucks. My other purchase, which will be my last random one, are 4 silk topiary pieces that I will be using for the candy buffet and perhaps the outside on either side of the door.

Oh yeah, we also need to pick out songs, and burn them to CD in case the DJ doesn’t have it. I looked at this list and he doesn’t have You and Me by Lifehouse, particularly the wedding version. So yeah that’s all.

SWEET

I just got the most awesome deal. 1 night stay at the Anatole for a two room suite (in case I get mad at Brian and need to kick him out), two 50 minute massages, champagne and fruit and cheese platter, plus pass to the spa/gym for an incredible awesome deal for our wedding night.

WOooot!

Rehearsal Dinner

Alright, I will need to contact them, but with all other stuff in mind, I think keeping the rehearsal dinner low key and casual is the way to go. Unfortunately our first choice would be Dave and Busters but we both (BRIAN) think it’s too far. So we’re gonna have pizza at Pappas Pizza. They have the best pizza in this town by far, and who doesn’t like pizza???? My dad will be pleased, since it’s his favorite meal on earth, and he seems to can’t stand asian food restaurants anyway. So everyone else can EAT IT! It’s so difficult finding the right restaurant in Addison, either you’re stuck with yuppy food or chain restaurants. Not everyone likes yuppy food, and I want it to be something local.

I guess I’ll call them tomorrow to see if their “party room” is available.

Tuxes and such

Brian and I finally went over to the Men’s Wearhouse today and decided on the tuxedos. We’ve picked them out and everyone must get fitted before August 15th. Anyway, the groom will be wearing this particular tux, vest, and shoes in white, whereas everyone else will be in all black. I couldn’t really find a color that would match or pair well with the bridesmaid’s dress so black was an easier option. We even have a coupon for 20 dollars off each tux, and this particular one is only 99.99 for the entire package.

We also stopped by Ikea and bought two clear jars for our candy buffet. I just need two more from Walmart to complete set. Thank goodness these will be reusable for food storage. We also bought 4 pillar candles for a dollar each to sit on top of the mantle. I wanted to get various sizes but couldn’t find any. I guess I’ll have to trek back over to Gardenridge or someplace else to find cheap candles. We also found a pack of 4 votives with tealights in orange and fushia at Ikea for 1.99. We thought it would be perfect to add to each table and we’d need 15 packs for each table. That only comes to 30 bucks, but I’m still hoping to find a better deal elsewhere. I might have to go back if I change my mind.

I still need to make those dang invitations. Arg. My brother is supposed to be translating the invites into Cambodian, so I’ll have to wait for him. Brian promised he would make a fancy schmancy map tomorrow, and I need to design the response card. I’m hoping to get this out to Staples this week. Let’s see of that happens.

Another HS friend is getting married on July 8th. Yay. I was completely surprised to hear from her since I haven’t spoken to her in about 4 or 5 years.

I miss my dress. She should be done with it in 2 weeks. I can’t wait to get it back. I also love the bustle we decided on. Click here for a sample. Since my train is a long chapel length one, we needed to do a 5 point French bustle. Even with the bustle, I’ll still have a bit of a train dragging, but oh well. I hope it’s not too bothersome. Even after looking at other dresses, I sitll love my choice of dress. My mom is trying to get me to buy another dress for the reception, which I’m also considering. I’m thinking of a cocktail dress that I can wear for the send off. We’ll see.

I can’t wait for September 2nd

Thankfully for the happiness of our marriage, the Texas Longhorns have announced that their opening game on September 2nd (our wedding day) will start at 11 a.m. The game against North Texas will be on FSN so I’ll be able to watch it while I’m probably supposed to be doing something else. Now I just have to find a way to watch the following weekend’s Ohio State game while in Cabo for our honeymoon.

Rehearsal Dinner

Brian and I have been going back and forth on this. Originally I wanted a sit down dinner at an Asian restaurant because we weren’t doing that for our actual wedding reception. It’s still a thought, but since Brian’s mom is paying for it, I want her to approve of the location. The pricing isn’t any better, but it’d run along the line of a 6 course family style meal. I guess I don’t care what cuisine type it is, I just know that certain members of my family have voiced their opinion about my choice of reception, and figured this would at least appease them.

So then I thought about Dave and Busters. The only downside is that the closest location is in Frisco. Brian thinks it’s too far, but really, it’s not thaaaattt far. Whatever. Dave and Busters has a reasonable price (15-20 for cocktail buffett), it’s casual enough, they have private rooms, the food is good, it’s a fun environment.

Then I found several other places in Addison, which is closer to the country club. Most of them are Italian, but the prices is a bit steep, although I’m not sure what the budget is for the RD.

Anyway, I’m tired, but that’s my rant for now.

Still need to work on those invites. Arg.

Got a great deal on an aisle runner

The knot boards is a great resource for brides. Especially for those needing a good deal on leftovers from past brides. I’m getting an aisle runner for 5 bucks, and I’m gonna pass that on to another knottie when I’m done with it. Woohoo.

Rehearsal

All you people in the wedding party, please put down 5-6pm for the rehearsal on Friday, September 1st. Dinner to follow, just dont know where yet.

So for those travelling from out of town, please make your arrangements accordingly. They can’t do it later than 5-6 because they have Emerald City playing with 450 guests for some other party.

I will send out a Christina and Brian’s wedding newsletter with all your assigned to-do’s soon.
