First Dance Song Disagreements
Posted in The Reception by Christina on February 27th, 2006
First dance songs. Brian and I have been having a bit of a disagreement over this subject. This is the one thing that will reflect both of our taste and personality I think. He doesn’t want the typical pop song or top 10 first dance songs. He suggested You and Me by Lifehouse, and I love that song, but currently it’s overplayed on the radio.
I suggested In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel, but it’s not very danceable.
There’s nothing else that is special except Crazy - Pat Green, but even that isn’t danceable or overly sweet.
This will be a tough one.

by the time you get around to the actual day of the wedding, people will probably have not heard “you and me” in a long time, so it’ll be a nice surprise. in terms of peter gabriel, does it have to be his version, because i think i’ve heard a couple of other versions. whatever happened to “you and i” by buble? i love that song. maybe it’s not danceable?
i like peter gabriel’s song in that movie, “shall we dance”. it’s at the end when richard gere comes to surprise his wife. so beautiful. just a thought.

it doesn’t matter if a song is overplayed on the radio if it makes you feel a certain way then you should use whatever song u like…
I chose endless love the version with mariah carey and luther vandross just because it made me get butterflies……
hope you have a great wedding day….
