Things to do

Here are things we need to be doing in January:

  1. Find a church
  2. Book a photographer
  3. Book a DJ
  4. Finalize bakery decision
  5. Start looking for honeymoon spots
  6. Buy a car ;-) (maybe)
  7. Find a florist

That’s it for now.

Radford Cakery

On Saturday we did another cake tasting at Radford Cakery. This time it was 3 hundred dollars cheaper than Romano’s but not as good. Still good, but a little dry. It’s still under consideration. I think I’ll book one more before we make any final decisions. We’re still looking for photographers. I guess to me that’s the one important thing, moreso than finding a church! Eeeek. Starting in January our planning will need be in full swing.

Beaux Arts Photography

So originally I was set on going with them. I just checked their website and the prices went up 2 times as much. What the hell??

Oh well, he sent me his recent shoot and I didn’t like it at all. Even if it’s not edited, it still wasn’t as detailed as I was wanting.

Wah. I guess I’ll keep looking. I think I’m going to increase my budget for photography….

PICTURES

enhancer 5 stone Ok so I promised that I would post pictures of stuff that I bought so here goes….I just bought my wedding jewelry but I haven’t gotten around to taking pictures of those yet….

And speaking of jewelry, we haven’t bought our wedding bands yet, but I’ve since I have a solitare brilliant cut ring, it’s difficult to find the perfect match since it could go with anything. Here are the two that I’m considering. I kinda like the look of the enhancer. The engagement ring would sit right in the middle. One of the photographer consultants we were talking to had one of these settings, it was really pretty. The other one is the 5 stone band. I like the bling. ;-)

mens white gold mens platinum

As for Brian’s wedding band. I think he likes these cuts. Not these in particular, but these are the ones I like. Although I prefer something more matted with an almost square/straight edge, he likes the shiny and round ones. I want him to get a platinum band but they’re so expensive, but I think it’s definitely worth the few extra hundred dollars.

bridesmaid dress

Now remember back when Julie and I went shopping. We found these dresses at Dillards for 9.75. At first we were considering using it as the bridesmaids dress despite the pink color. But after taking it home, I just didn’t think it was formal enough. It’s less than 10 bucks, and we might still use it…who knows. I think it looks cute in this picture. What do you think? As far as the Watters and Watters dress, I still like that style I picked out a few weeks ago. I called some Internet site and got a good price quote for that particular dress~$156 dollars for each dress. I still think I’ll have to see it in person. I may have, I dunno.

flutes2

As for the toasting flutes I bought at the Neiman Marcus outlet. It’s alot more than I what I would have spent. But I figured these are nice enough to display in our china cabinet if and when we get a house with a china cabinet. I was thinking I might get this engraved with our names or monogram which I’ve designed. Speaking of monograms, I think I need to find better fonts. I’m kinda glad I bought these flutes and not some cheapos I’ve found. However this would mean we’d have to forgo nicer things like the guestbook perhaps. I like the idea of plates that guest could sign or a signature mat which are popular these days.

wedding shoes

Now here are the shoes I bought a couple days ago at DSW. Since it is winter they didn’t have too many white slippers or sandals. I did find these for 29.99 and they’re kinda comfy. I just hope I don’t trip walking down the aisle…I am a clutz. Eventually I’ll need to break them in by wearing them around the house. Yeah I don’t think they’re appropriate for work. I’ll probably also get white flip flops from somewhere - Target maybe. So that way I can switch shoes if my toes happen to fall off.

necklace1
Ok so I took a break and took pictures of the necklace and earrings. Yes I bought two. I saw a pair of necklaces at a store called Soho at Willow Bend but it was over 100 dollars!!! So I went to Kohls and found these. They have a nice selection of wedding type jewelry and of course it’s a bargain. Brian calls it generic jewelry, which it is, but who cares. I like em. ALOT. It’s better than Sam Moon’s stuff. The picture is too small to do it justice. I guess I can always link it to a larger version. That’s your job Brian - it’s still on the memory card. I got these for 14 dollars.

big earrings
These are the matching earrings. I knew Brian wouldnt like them, because he hates dangly earrings. These are quite big and heavy. It almost touches my shoulders they’re so long. I like them!!! I’ll have to get a girls opinion something. These were 14 dollars as well.

earrings small
Now I knew Brian would hate the other earrings so I bought more modest looking ones. These are definitely smaller earrings. They also match the necklace. I like these too. I wouldn’t have bought the second pair of earrings if these didn’t cost 5.40 dollars. I might just wear these during the ceremony and switch to the bigger ones for the reception. ;-)

And now some random photos of Miss Reesey trying to eat my necklace. Look at that face. Too cute.

reesey necklace and reesey

I think because the necklace and earrings are more elaborate I’m gonna forgo the tiara/headband. I might look for some small ornaments or combs to adorn my hairstyle. I want to do an updo, but now I’m leaning more just leaving my hair down. I guess I’ll discuss of that during any trial runs.

I got my shoes

I stopped by DSW yesterday bc my current “dress” shoes were looking frumpy and outdated and instead bought my wedding shoes. They’re about 3 inches high, clear with rhinestones across the toes. I took pictures and will upload them tonight.
