The Dress?

Today while Brian was at work, I decided I got bored and went dress shopping. I think I may have found the dress that I like. It’s an A-line ivory strapless dress. There’s beading on the top and the train. Very elegant. Very pretty. I was looking for a ballgown type dress, so I’ll still look for that. But for now that’s my number one pick. The price is pretty high, since I’m looking for something under 500. This one is 700. Why pay gobs of money for a dress you’re going to wear once? Hopefully by the time I’ll make a purchase it’ll go on sale… I took pictures of it while I was trying it on with my camera phone, but since Brian isn’t allowed to see it, I won’t post it.

Bridesmaid #1

Well today I had lunch with an old friend from college. We were discussing life, etc. My engagement, her engagement. I finally asked her if she wanted to be my bridesmaid. She got really excited. Seeing that made me emotional. :-) So yay!!! We’re going to have tons of fun!

Stores We Will Register At

I’m thinking we’ll go with the normal Target, Foley’s, Bed Bath and Beyond, and possibly Crate and Barrell. It’s really hard to resist the urge not to register for the most expensive coffee maker or flatware. In looking at a friend’s registry, I realized that China costs more than I could ever imagine. For ONE 5 piece setting the costs ranges from 39-199. So if I’m looking to get 10 or 12 place settings, that’s $468 for the $39 set. Holy Cow! Plates are dumb, it’s probably going to sit in the box unused anyway. I think my mom saved a set for me somewhere. It’s outdated though…

Brian, what stores do you want to add? Sorry, no Best Buy…

Guestlist

I need a guest list. At least an estimate before I attempt to speak with any of the reception sites. The goal is to have at least 200 guests, and I will be ordering 150+ invitations (just in case). The wedding will be in Dallas, so it will be a little hard to get everyone there…but hopefully they’ll come.

Last night on the way home from New Braunfels, I was seriously thinking of just having a beach wedding somewhere…

Anyway a note to the parentals and family, please come up with some names.

I already have 81 names on the list on my side.

My ring

Just like Brian said, we got the ring On Wednesday. I left work 10 minutes early to just to be home to get it. Yesterday, I went to my parents so they could see it. Anyway, I’m too tired from work to make a decent post…

The ring finally showed up

Tiffany engagement ring and boxWell the ring finally showed up yesterday. As Christina told you, we had to leave it at Tiffany’s in New York to have it resized to fit her better. They said 4 – 5 days, but it took more 9 – 10. Christina was definitely dissapointed that she only got to wear it for like half an hour before giving it away.

I’m completely paranoid she’s going to lose it or something. I keep asking her if it’s on tight enough and making her shake her hand like crazy to test whether it’s going to fall off. I know diamonds are very durable so I’m not too worried about damage, just loss or theft. It just seems insane to be walking around with something that expensive on your finger.

I need to hurry up and finish filling out the insurance info and get that taken care of. That should ease my fears a little bit.
